In 1858, Edwin T. Holmes made the first burglar alarm system. well the first electro-magnetic alarm system in the world was already created on 21 June 1853 a man named Augustus Russell Pope, he was an inventor from Sommerville in Boston.thats when edwin made popes alarm system way better. popes alarm system was just a prototype. this is how it worked the doors and windows were connected as independent units by a parallel circuit. If the door or a window was opened and the electric circuit closed, the sudden flow of current caused one of the attached magnets in the system to vibrate. Then the electro magnetic vibrations were transmitted to a hammer which then struck a the bell, this is how augustus russell pope alarm system worked .

edwin t. holmes was born in april 25,1820 in massachusetts,later on he gained his rights for the burglar alarm,he was also know as the father of the urglar alarm industry. In 1859 Holmes moved to New York so he could get more clients and would be interested in his service. holmes burglar alarm system started rising and his company started expanding into other cities.

Impact before and after on the burglar alarm system
In my opinion i think that the burglar alarm system is great because it makes a loud sound or calls the nearby police department, when someone broke into your house or store.edwin made a agreement with an telephone company so they can share wires,so the same wires could be used for telephones during business hours, and for alarms when the businesses were closed, it almost affected the people that broke into stores and houses.even now with 20th century technology the alarm system is better because it calls police department, firefighters, and medical help, when a door or window is force to entry, it detects a alarm to an alarm control panel, which then sets off a loud alarm and the offender is forced to escape or leave.
before people could just walk into your home and take whatever they wanted,then a man created the burglar alarm system,thats when everything change.if someone tried to get into your home and steal ,theres something out there calling your name prison and after that burglars never would go near your house
